HEC Paris

I think it is a fine tradition to have applause before the event since I cannot count on it after the event. This is actually a talk in two parts. The first part is a film. The film is a result of an entrepreneurial colleague who, when I stopped teaching a course on leadership in which the readings were Shakespeare, Tolstoy and Cervantes – asked if he could possibly make a film. I said that I did not like films of somewhat standing in front and talking but that if he could find a good filmmaker, I would try. So we did. And the film that we intend to show you now is a film intended to explain why, you all, your first act at HEC should be to get a copy of Don Quixote de la Mancha and read it. After that, you will be ready for the rest of the courses.
