Background
Jan Bass is the associate dean of undergraduate programs and a professor of economics in the Darla Moore School of Business. She joined the economics faculty in 1987. She teaches courses in intermediate macroeconomics and international monetary economics and has supervised Ph.D., master’s and Honors College theses. She is a recipient of the Moore School Outstanding Teaching Award and has been recognized by the Mortar Board for excellence in teaching. Bass also served as the university’s faculty civility advocate from August 2014 to July 2018.
She earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill in 1987 and a B.S. in economics, magna cum laude, from the University of Delaware in 1982.
