Janhavi Shankar is a PhD Candidate in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics at Fordham University, specializing in International and Financial Economics. At Fordham, he is advised by Prof. Dominick Salvatore and Prof. Erick W. Rengifo.

His research interests are in Financial Economics, International Finance, Behavioral Finance, Financial Markets, FinTech, Empirical Asset Pricing, Applied Econometrics, and Economic Development.

During his PhD studies, Janhavi Shankar worked as a research intern at the International Monetary Fund - Monetary and Capital Markets Department in Summer 2022, and the University of Cambridge Judge Business School - Center for Alternative Finance in Summer 2020.

He is also interested in Economic and Business consulting. Before joining the PhD program, Janhavi Shankar worked in the business consulting industry for 2+ years. He worked with the Business Performance and Advanced Analytics team at ZS, providing business-relevant analytics and insights to a major US Pharma client.

Janhavi Shankar holds an MSc in Economics from the Symbiosis International University - School of Economics, and a BSc in Physics (Major), Mathematics, and Statistics from University of Pune - Fergusson College.
