Stephen M. Ross School of Business
Since 2005 Janet A. Weiss has been Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Rackham Graduate School, as well as a faculty member in the Ross School and the Ford School of Public Policy. She is affiliated with the Management and Organizations area within the Ross School. Before joining the Provost’s office, she was the founder and faculty director of the Nonprofit and Public Management Center at the University of Michigan, a collaborative effort of the Ross School and the schools of Public Policy, and Social Work. Her research focuses on public management and public policy. She has also done extensive research on the challenges of public management and the interplay between policy design and the management of public programs. Her work on education policy, in particular, led to her participation in several national commissions on education reform.
