Biography

IMD Business School

Experience & Background: Jan brings deep expertise in sustainability to IMD. He is a creative sustainability expert in strategy development, DJSI and sustainable innovation, with a hands-on approach.

Following a commercial career in food and telecom, Jan lastly was most recently Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Priority Telecom/Liberty Global. Jan founded his sustainability advisory business in 1997. Over the past two decades, he and his team have advised multinationals and family businesses such as McDonald’s, Telenet, DSM, Miguel Torres, Randstad, LANXESS and HJHeinz. Jan’s speciality is designing value generating sustainability strategies, and effectively implementing them into the core of the business.

Next to his consulting work, since 2003 Jan has been a frequent case writer and guest speaker on sustainable innovation at various business schools around the globe. In 2013 Jan was granted the prestigious EFMD Case Writing Competition Award for co-authoring an IMD case about Bavaria’s green guerrilla marketing.

Jan is a logistics engineer and a CPIM certified supply chain professional.
