Biography

Jamie Lyn Perry is an Assistant Professor of Management at the Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University. Her research focuses on how to lead effective organizational teams, with specific interest in work team diversity, power and status structures, and conflict management. Current research explores the temporal effects of diversity, the relationship between diversity and social structures, and insights on how teams can cooperate and collaborate across divisions. Jamie has published research in Personnel Psychology, American Psychologist, Psychological Bulletin and Academy of Management Annals. Her work has garnered international media attention, with coverage from BBC World News, Time Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Time, among others. She has received awards for her research from Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and has served on the boards of professional associations such as the Conflict Management Division of the Academy of Management and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Jamie received her PhD in Organizational Behavior and MA in Psychology from Rutgers University. She holds a BS in Psychology and Sociology from University of Houston.
