UW Professional & Continuing Education
JD Wallace is the founder of and the professional writing coach at Master of the Story, where he leads workshops on business, novel and script writing. Previously, he spent seven years at Amazon, where he taught long-form narrative and business review report writing with the Global Business Writing Team and developed training programs for Worldwide Operations. Wallace has coached a number of well-known memoir writers, ghostwritten a couple of biopics, and consulted with several military and intelligence officers on their non-fiction “tell-all” books.
He is the author of the award-winning novel Silent Cats: Deadly Dance and is co-creator of four award-winning TV pilots and a highly acclaimed docudrama thriller. Wallace has also worked as a consulting writer and designer for a video game company and a story consultant for TV shows including Burn Notice, Covert Affairs, and, most recently, The Blacklist. Wallace earned his MBA from Marquette University after earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of California San Diego.
