Dr, McKenna is presently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, Research Health Scientist at the VA Boston Healthcare System, and Director of the Neuroanatomy Section of the Laboratories of Neuroscience at the VA Boston Healthcare System. His research investigates the neural circuitry responsible for sleep-wake regulation, employing neuroanatomical, pharmacological, electrophysiological, optogenetic, chemogenetic, and behavioral methods.
