Harvard Medical School

Jim has devoted his professional career to community psychiatry. He received his medical degree from University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in 1990 before moving to Boston for psychiatry residency training at Tufts Medical Center and St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. He became a Clinical Instructor at Harvard Medical School in 1996 and was promoted to Assistant Professor in 2011. He is interested in co-occurring substance use and psychiatric disorders, race- and class-based health disparities, and the mental health consequences of climate change.
