Jim Holtje currently serves as a speechwriter to the CEO of IBM. He was previously a speechwriter to the CEO of Siemens AG in Germany and the U.S. as well as speechwriter to the CEO of McGraw-Hill and the head of emerging payments at MasterCard. Holtje has published six books including: Divided It Stands Can the United Nations Work? for Turner Publishing and The Power of Storytelling for Penguin. He earned a BA in political science from New York University and a Master of International Affairs from SIPA. Holtje previously taught corporate communications at NYU and joined SIPA in January 2016 to teach advanced speechwriting. He is fluent in German and has studied French, Italian, Spanish and Latin.
