ESADE Business School
Jaime Bonache is Professor of Management at Carlos III University of Madrid (Spain). He holds a PhD in Management from UAM (Madrid, Spain), and a Master of Arts in Philosophy from Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada). He has also been Full Professor of International Human Resource Management at Esade Business School (Barcelona) and Cranfield School of Management (United Kingdom), and Visiting Professor at Göttingen Universität (Germany). Professor Bonache has lectured at numerous universities in Europe, the United States and Latin America.
His research interests include expatriation and global mobility, international compensation, and Epistemology. Professor Bonache’s academic publications include more than thirty articles in international journals, including Journal of World Business, Journal of Organizational Behavior, IJHRM, Organization Studies, Human Resource Management, Journal of Business Ethics, and HRM Review. He has also been a guest editor of a number Special Issues of international academic journals on trends in expatriation, with Professors Chris Brewster and Vesa Suutari. In addition to his articles, he has written and edited four books, one of them (Dirección de Personas, with Angel Cabrera) has been a best-seller in a number of Spanish-speaking countries. With a focus on international human resource management, he co-authored a book with Paula Caligiuri and David Lepak entitled Managing a Global Workforce (Wiley Publishers, 2012), and another one with Chris Brewster and Fabian Froese entitled "Global Mobility and the Management of Expatriates", to be published in 2020 by Cambridge University Press. .
Professor Bonache has participated in scientific committees for the Academy of Management and other major international research institutions. He has also combined his research activities with consultancy in human resource management. He has also been advisor of the Government Accountability Officer (GAO) of the USA on compensation issues facing US expatriates.
