Jack Cheng Yu-Chao

Biography

Dr Cheng Yu-Chao (Jack) was the Principal Assistant Director, Head of Greater China and Faculty member at IP Academy, Intellectual Property Office of Singapore International (IPOS-I). He also holds the appointment as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Institute for Engineering Leadership, Faculty of Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS). As a certified Patent Valuation Analyst (CPVA) by Business Development Academy in the US and a Senior IP Technology Consultant (IPTC), under the IPTC joint initiative by The Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) and the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS), he specializes in Intellectual Property (IP) Policy, patent analysis management, competitive intelligence, and innovation management.

He was also the expert group of Singapore IP Strategy 2030 (SIPS2030) in charge of “Driving Enterprises Growth with Intangible Assets” while he was Principal Assistant Director, Head of Greater China, and Faculty member at IP Academy, Intellectual Property Office of Singapore International (IPOS-I).

Jack received his PhD from the Division of Engineering and Technology Management, National University of Singapore (NUS). He conducts seminars/talks on global competition/ strategy for EMBA and GMBA programmes frequently. He was appointed as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Renmin University of China in 2017~2020.

Jack was the co-principal investigator for several national projects on patent trends and litigation in the information and optical-electronic industries during his term as a Secretary General at Taiwan Technology Law Institute. In addition, he also conducted several consulting projects related to IP management, patent analysis and deployment for companies in various industries, including the semiconductor and financial leasing industries.
