Biography
Dr. Igor Cesarec is a Vice President in the Global Economics team at Citigroup, based in New York. He is responsible for producing thematic research on all aspects of the global economy and collaborates directly with the Chief Economist. Dr. Cesarec previously worked at Morgan Stanley in London and has worked on research projects at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and Harvard University.
Dr. Cesarec earned his PhD degree in Economics at New York University (NYU), and was awarded the Macrofinancial Modeling Fellowship from the Becker Friedman Institute at the University of Chicago for his PhD dissertation. He also holds a Master’s degree in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, both from the London School of Economics (LSE).
He is passionate about fostering ties between members of the Slovenian community abroad and is the Founder and President Emeritus of the Association of Slovenes Educated Abroad (Društvo v tujini izobraženih Slovencev - VTIS) and a member of the Government Council for Slovenians Abroad.
