Igor Cersosimo

Igor Cersosimo is a specialist in data science, with a PhD in Analysis and Governance of Sustainable Development at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (2009) and a Master’s degree in Statistics and Economics at the University of Padua (2000).

For a large part of his career in research, Igor applied statistical and other modelling techniques to analyze various environmental and sustainability issues, with a special focus on China, where he has been living and working for several years. During his time in China, he also taught courses on the situation of China’s environment and gave seminars on methodology for the assessment of sustainable development.

Later on, he moved into the private sector, working as data scientist for a major player in the field of big data analysis for marketing. In this role, he worked on the development and implementation of innovative methods to extract information from profiles and online behaviors of social networks’ users.

Igor joined ESSCA in 2018 and, in light of his experience, he gives several courses on methods and technical tools for data analysis: Quantitative Methods; Business Analytics; Online Studies; Database and Programming.
