Biography

Ian Stewart joined the Stern School of Business at New York University in September 2005. He is currently Clinical Associate Professor of Management Communication and has responsibility for the Stern Teaching Effectiveness Program (STEP).

Before joining Stern, Professor Stewart was a faculty member in accounting at Cal Poly Pomona, Seattle Pacific University, the University of Auckland, and the Victoria University of Wellington. At Cal Poly Pomona he was Director of the Faculty Center for Professional Development from 2002 to 2005. He was Professor of the Year at Seattle Pacific University from 1996 to 1997, and from 1999 to 2002 he was the Joseph C. Hope Professor of Leadership and Ethics at Seattle Pacific.

In the last 15 years his research interests have been focused around the scholarship of teaching and learning.
