Dr. Holger Schmidt is a digital economist and journalist. He studied economics and holds a Ph.D. on climate change.
His journalistic prowess is regularly featured in the German Handelsblatt and Netzhoekon.de. Holger Schmidt also did a stint as economics editor of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, a daily German Newspaper.
Currently holding a post as a lecturer at the Department of Information Systems as the TU Darmstadt, Holger Schmidt’s topics include the digitalization of business and works, specializing in such areas as digital transformation, platform economics, artificial intelligence, and new work. Holger Schmidt is also the inventor of the platform index and is a senior partner in Ecodynamics.
His journalistic skills have stood him in good stead and have seen him co-author two books on his specific field, Deutschland 4.0 and Künstliche Intelligenz: Mit Algorithmen zum wirtschaftlichen Erfolg. Both of these have been extremely well received.
As a conference speaker, he has addressed a variety of audiences, including energy providers, car manufacturers, the pharmaceutical industry, various educational institutions, professional associations, and a host of others.
