Biography
Dr. Hill Krishnan was born in a small village in south India, into the “Most Backward Caste” known for crime, poverty and illiteracy. He later went on to become an engineer, ergonomist, political scientist, professor, entrepreneur, entertainer, candidate for public office, and now a speaker.
For nearly a decade, he has been working as an educator, teaching students from 8thgrade to graduate school. In his work with underserved high school students, Dr. Krishnan has taught a variety of courses ranging from chemistry, anatomy and physiology, to calculus and political science. At the college and graduate levels, he has designed and taught nearly two dozen political science and international relations courses.
Dr. Krishnan is a voracious reader. For the past 10 years, he has read thousands of non-fiction books on various topics, and sets a goal of 300 books every year. He is also the author of a memoir and other international affairs e-books. Dr. Krishnan has an undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering, as well as three graduate degrees. These include a Master of Science in Biomechanics and Ergonomics from NYU, a Master of Science in Global Affairs from NYU, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from Boston University.
Dr. Krishnan brings a unique background. In addition to personal cross-cultural experience as an immigrant from India, he is a professor of International Affairs, teaching diverse NYC students. His academic research focuses on political culture; specifically, minorities’ perceived freedom of speech in Canada and the U.S. This new knowledge informs his speeches about diversity and political culture in corporate environments.
