Born on 4 July 1956 in Mainz am Rhein, 1976-1980 studied business economics at the University of Giessen. 1980-1983 research assistant, 1983 doctorate. 1983 joined the banking audit department of Peat, Marwick Mitchell & Co, Frankfurt as audit assistant. 1986 German tax advisor exam, 1990 German chartered accountancy exam. 1992 Partner, 1993 merger with KPMG, 1998 Managing Partner Frankfurt. 1999 joined Arthur Andersen as Regional Managing Partner Central Germany and Managing Partner Financial Services Industry Germany. 2002 merger with Ernst & Young, board member of Ernst & Young AG, responsible for Financial Services Industry Germany, and member of various global leadership teams. 2008 early retirement and acceptance of professorship of Financial Management at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. In addition advisory activity for Roland Berger and member of various advisory and supervisory boards.
