Biography
Nyenrode Business University
Henk Kievit (1971) is Director of the Nyenrode faculty Center for Entrepreneurship & Stewardship as well as the Program Director of the Modular Executive MBA programs for Food & Innovation / Business & IT / Public & Private.
He teaches on (Social) Entrepreneurship & (Social) Venture Capital topics in the fulltime and parttime MSc programs at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. His research focuses on Social Venturing Entrepreneurship activities, the new form of entrepreneurship for sustainability in society.
In 2011 he obtained his Ph.D. with his dissertation entitled: Social Venturing Entrepreneurship – a positioning. See for a summary in English: SVE-dissertation
In 1994 Henk received his Master’s Degree in Agricultural Economics at Wageningen University.
Henk is involved in a number of activities in the field of social venturing entrepreneurship, (venture) philanthropy. Prior to joining Nyenrode as a research associate in October 2005, he worked in the international business of information technology and a private family philanthropy and societal investments organization, with a dedicated private equity social venturing fund in the Netherlands. In 2005 he founded an independent consultancy firm for strategy advise on family business, social venturing & venture philanthropy activities.
He is (co)author of a number of publications on Social venturing Entrepreneurship, including:
- ''De Stille Revolutie van Social Venturing Entrepreneurs'', (2008);
- ‘Oogsten’ (in Ondernemerschap en Ondernemen; de ondernemer centraal, Netwerkpers, Zwolle, 2005);
- ‘Social Venturing, geld met ideeën"(in Bond magazine, december 2005, no. 4);
- ‘Social Venturing - Effective Philanthropy; Hoofd, Hart en Handen’ (Knowblesse, 2000).
