The UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School
Heletjé van Staden is an Assistant Professor of Management in the supply chain management area at UCD College of Business. She holds a PhD in Operations Management from KU Leuven, Belgium.
Her main research interests lie in operations decision making under uncertainty. Specifically, her research focuses on Industry 4.0 driven maintenance optimisation given partial information and real-time synchromodal transportation optimisation. She has experience collaborating with logistics service providers aimed at advancing transportation planning practices. Her work has been published in the European Journal of Operations Research.
At UCD, Heletjé teaches in the areas of logistics, supply chain and operations management. Prior to pursuing her PhD, she held a lecturer position in operations research and financial mathematics at the University of Namibia.
