Wagner Graduate School of Public Service

Hedieh Fakhriyazdi  is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Public Service at the NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and a Senior Manager in Global Diversity and Social Responsibility at the international law firm, Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. In this capacity, she helps to oversee the recruitment, retention and advancement of the Firm’s diverse attorneys globally, in addition to overseeing the Firm’s social responsibility and pipeline initiatives.

Fakhriyazdi previously spent a number of years at Bloomberg LP in the Corporate Philanthropy, Employee Engagement & Human Resources and Diversity & Inclusion functions. While at Bloomberg, she was responsible for deepening relationships with clients, nonprofit, and corporate leaders in developing opportunities for partnerships, and the branding and visibility of Bloomberg’s corporate social responsibility framework. Most notably, in partnership with Points of Light and the National Conference on Citizenship, Fakhriyazdi spearheaded Bloomberg’s involvement and co-development of The Civic 50, the first national survey measuring the most civic and community-minded S&P 500 companies.

Fakhriyazdi received her Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning and Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the University of Virginia. She also earned her Masters of Public Administration in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy from NYU Wagner. She currently serves as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors for the Epic Theatre Ensemble and is an active volunteer with the Tahirih Justice Center.
