Hamilton Mehlman's career is in life sciences and biotechnology, including corporate management, product and business development, strategic consulting and institutional investment success.

Most recently served as CFO of Guardian Therapeutics, Inc. in Lexington, MA. during its formation and startup phase

Mr. Mehlman was CEO and a Director of Parabase Genomics, using targeted next generation sequencing of DNA to diagnose genetic disease in newborns.

Since 1996, Mr. Mehlman invested in public and private life science related companies. - 1996 – 2001 he worked as a Principal (Partner), Fund Manager, and Life Sciences Equity Analyst for Essex Investment Management. During his time at Essex, firm assets grew from approximately $3 billion to exceed $22 billion at peak. - In 2001 he started Andesite Inc., a long-short life science investment company,managing up to $100 million in three life science funds. - From 1989-1996 Mr. Mehlman held a number of operating and consulting positions primarily for life science related companies. - From 1991-1994 he served as VP of Operations (consulting) at Advanced Metabolic Systems (AMSys) in Milford, Ct. AMSys, a venture backed company, sought to develop and commercialize a therapy for Type I diabetes. His principal accomplishment at AMSys was overseeing from inception to completion a complex, multicenter, clinical trial. As consultant he provided strategic analysis for DIANON Systems, a specialty oncology diagnostic lab later acquired by LabCorp. From 1994-1996 he consulted to MediSense as its Director of Business Development. Abbott Laboratories purchased MediSense in 1996.

He earned degrees from Harvard Business School (1989) and Harvard College (1981). He also completed the first two years of medical school at Tufts.
