Hamid Bouchikhi is Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship at ESSEC and a leading European Researcher in the areas of organization theory, entrepreneurship and managerial innovation. Hamid is also the founder and Academic Director of the ESSEC Entrepreneurship Center dedicated to providing training, coaching, logistical support and financing to student entrepreneurs. He is past President of the Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Small Business Network (EISB) and has been a Visiting Professor to Keio University, Tokyo, University of Putra, Malaysia Graduate School of Management and to Wharton School, Pennsylvania. He has authored and co-authored several books, articles and book chapters. He holds a Doctorat en Méthodes Scientifiques de Gestion, Université Paris IX Dauphine.

He was born in 1959 and grew up in Morocco. He holds a bachelor's degree from ISCAE, a business school based in Casablanca. In 1983, Hamid Bouchikhi moved to Paris to complete his studies at Paris Dauphine University where he obtained a master's degree in Management Information Sytems (MIS), a master's degree in Scientific Management Methods and a PhD in Management Studies. During his doctoral studies, Hamid Bouchikhi was affiliated with the Management Research Center (Centre de Recherche en Gestion) of Ecole Polytechnique. in 1990, Hamid Bouchikhi joined the faculty of ESSEC Business School where he started and developed the entrepreneurship center. Hamid's research interests are in organization theory, entrepreneurship, and managerial innovation. He has published several articles, in academic and professional journals, books and book chapters. Hamid Bouchikhi was a visiting professor at Keio University (Tokyo, Japan), The Univerity of Putra Malaysia, and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In 2019, Hamid Bouchikhi moved to South Korea to lead SolBridge International School of Business. In the same year, His Majesty Mohammed VI King of Morocco appointed Hamid Bouchikhi to a royal task force (CSMD) charged with the task of evaluating Morocco's development model and recommending a new model.
