Haileab Hilafu is an Assistant Professor of Statistics in the College of Business Administration at the University of Tennessee. He teaches Statistics classes in the MSBA program, and the undergraduate program. Haileab has worked as a summer intern at Vistakon, Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc. During his graduate studies, he was awarded the Best Beginning Theoretical Student, Outstanding Teaching Student, and the Best Senior Student awards.

Haileab''s research interest is in the statistical analysis of high-dimensional datasets: dimension reduction, visualization, classification, cluster analysis and Statistical computing. His work has been published in refereed journals such as the Journal of Royal Statistical Society—Series B and the Journal of Computational Statistics and Data Analysis.
