Nyenrode Business University

Prof. Dr. Haico Ebbers is Professor of International Economics at Nyenrode Business Universiteit in The Netherlands. In his lectures, the emphasis is on the way economic transitions in many parts of the world will (re)shape the international landscape of companies and governments. He is linking globalization to economic transitions and strategic choices by companies. Clearly, the biggest impact may come from China and consequently his focus is to the rebalancing process that is happening in China and the China strategy of Western companies as reaction on this. He is considered as one of the key China specialists in the Netherlands and well-known for his contributions in the discussion related to China in the Dutch media.

 

In his latest publications the focus is specifically on China’s integration in the World economy, in particular its relationship with the EU; through trade, investments and short term capital flows. In the previous ten years, Haico has been selected numerous times as the best professor of the Nyenrode MSc program.

Secondary positions
Besides his work at Nyenrode, Haico is a guest professor at various national and international universities, including some top universities in China. Haico is a visiting professor at Renmin University in Beijing and Sichuan University in Chengdu. Until recently, he was a visiting professor at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai. Furthermore, Haico has been invited to present his ideas and vision at numerous universities in China, the London Academy of Diplomacy,   Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and Utrecht University. In addition, he is a member of the MBA Advisory Board of Windesheim, on the Board of Academisch Overleg China and on the Board of Quanxi.nu  platform. Besides teaching in degree programs all over the world, he is a well-known speaker at company events and conferences.
