George Hogenson

Biography

George Hogenson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Jungian psychoanalyst in the Chicago Loop who specializes in trauma, sexuality, aging-related concerns, and college & graduate student mental health. He has extensive experience working adults across the lifespan. Many individuals who come to see George have a history of trauma, including sexual abuse and/or incest. George also works with the combination of personal and professional issues that arise at management levels in large organizations.

George utilizes insight-oriented approaches that are grounded in Jungian and Psychoanalytic therapies including dream work and other symbolic material. He frequently does long-term, deep work with his clients to help them to get to the heart of their issues and explore who they are and what they want out of life.

George provides a safe, nonjudgmental space for all gender orientations, races, and backgrounds. He supports his clients on their journey towards healing and helps them recognize that their thoughts and feelings are valid. George received his PhD in Philosophy from Yale University and his MA from the University of Chicago. He also received a diploma in Analytical Psychology from the C. G. Jung Institute of Chicago. His office is located steps from the Jackson and Harold Washington Library-State/Van Buren stops off the Blue, Red, Purple, Brown, Pink, and Orange lines.
