Gaurang Khemka

Gaurang Khemka is an architect with a specialization in Urban Design, Urban Hotels and Resort Planning. He has over 25 years of experience working in North America, Europe and Asia across a range of scales and contexts, from master planning and programming public institutions to detailed design of high-end resorts and residences. He understands the essence of placemaking and the qualities that create some of the world’s finest institutional, hospitality, commercial and residential projects and combines that with his management skills to deliver a product of the highest quality. Gaurang studied Architecture, Urban Design and Planning at the University of California, Berkeley and has worked with reputed architects and urban design firms such as Charles Correa (Bombay), Kerry Hill Architects (Singapore), EDAW Inc (San Francisco) and HOK Inc (Hong Kong, Singapore and Brisbane).

He is a Global Young Leader for the World Cities Summit and an active member of several professional organizations globally such as AIA, APA, IIA, ULI, and SPUR and founded ULI’s young leader group in Singapore. He has been a visiting critic at UC Berkeley, and Delhi School of Planning and Architecture.

In 2006, he started the office for HOK in Singapore and was instrumental in building its South Asia Practice. He also headed HOK’s Urban Design and Resort Planning team for South Asia till 2008 and is currently the Singapore Resident Director for HOK Sport – recently rebranded as POPULOUS

Gaurang continues to retain strong alliances with large global firms while being focused on URBNarc to design and deliver high-quality design solutions in planning, architecture and interior design. His leadership of URBNarc has made the firm one of the fastest growing and recognized firms in Singapore that has already garnered a few design awards. He has been featured in several leading international and local publications such as Surface, Wallpaper, Dwell, Inside Outside, Straits Times, Business Times and Cubes.
