Gang Wang

I am currently a researcher/senior director of Alibaba group, and a chief scientist of Alibaba AI Labs. I lead the research team on machine learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and speech recognition to develop cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies. Prior to that, I was a tenured Associate Professor of Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, where I was an associate director of the ROSE lab with around 60 faculty/researchers/students.

My research interests include deep learning and its applications on computer vision, natural language processing, and speech recognition. I am an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (TPAMI) and an Area Chair ICCV 2017 and CVPR 2018. I am a recipient of MIT Technology Review innovator under 35 award (Asia).
