Tenor Frank Hampton has a wide and varied career balancing both the arts and sciences. With musical training at the Juilliard School, Frank currently holds a position as an Assistant Professor of civil engineering at Villanova University. Frank’s music career is equally as varied including working as a solo singer, a professional chorister, an accompanist and vocal coach, and as a conductor. With additional training as an apprentice artist at Des Moines Metro Opera and OperaWorks, Los Angeles, Frank has sung extensively in the Philadelphia area as a core member of the Philadelphia Singers the chorus of Opera Philadelphia, and an appearance of the Festival dei Due Mondi, Spoleto, Italy. Dr. Hampton held a one year appointment as an apprentice artist with the New Jersey Opera Theater, appearing in multiple outreach appearances of the Magic Flute. Other opera appearances include appearances with Concert Opera New Jersey, Concert Opera Philadelphia, and the Savoy Company. As a solo singer, Frank has appeared with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Philadelphia Singers and Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, The Des Moines Metro Opera Orchestra, the Bucks County Choral Society, the Ocean City Pops, and the Jersey Shore Pops. Frank has recently transitioned from bass baritone to tenor, and is looking forward to beginning a new chapter with his new voice.
