Françoise DANY is a specialist of career theory and the employment relationship evolutions. Her research led her to study resistance phenomena in organisations and alternative management practices. She also developed a critical approach to Human Resources. * She has been in charge for France of the International Observatory of Human Resource Management practices (cranet). * She created EMLYON research center, OCE. * She has been elected as associate dean for faculty in 2012. * She is a professor doing consultancy and action research.

Design of training programmes, recruitment of trainers, follow-up and evaluation of training.

  • Fields: human resource management, career management, critical approaches to management, alternative management, gender and organisations, sociology and change management.

Other activities:

1990-1998, Head of the “Career Club”, EMLYON Business School (ESC Lyon group)

  • The “career CLlub” gathered HR Directors from large companies (Casino, Danone, Dow Chemical, EDF, Ernst&Young, Lafarge, Nestlé, Philips, Renault, Rhône Poulenc, Seb, Shell, Usinor Sacilor, etc.). Its goal was to conduct comparisons of HR practices and study how to improve HR practices (ie : how to improve recruitment practices; rethinking career management and employability ; career promises ; job market segmentation and job-related behaviour ; changes in professions…).

1994 – 2012 Head for France of the International Observatory of Human Resource Management (Cranfield Network)

  • Preparation of a questionnaire every three years to identify HRM practices in France. Analysis of French practices as compared to those of other countries (close to 40) monitored by the International Observatory.

2003-2004, Visiting Professor at Duke University, Fuqua School of Business

2004 - 2012, Director of EMYLON's OCE Research Centre

The mission of the OCE Research Centre is to analyse the changes in contemporary organisations and their impact on individuals. It is devoted to a political and critical approach to management with a perspective that is both reflexive and constructive. It aims at working out opportunities for business to fulfill the challenges of their environments

OCE receives support from EMYLON, Agence Nationale pour la Recherche, and corporations

Since 2008, co-leader of the Research Group on "Careers" of the Association francophone de Gestion des Ressources Humaines
