Hertie School of Governance
Philipp Johann König is an economist at the DIW Berlin in the macro and policy analysis department. He obtained his diploma in economics from Free University Berlin and holds a PhD from Technical University Berlin. His dissertation, supervised by Frank Heinemann, focused on liquidity and banking crises and the role of public policies to contain them. Since 2013 he is economist at DIW Berlin where his policy work and research focuses on monetary policy and banking as well as financial crises. Before coming to DIW he worked as a research associate at the chair for macroeconomics at Technical University Berlin and spent some time at the European Central Bank.
