Erik Beulen is hoogleraar aan de Universiteit van Tilburg en Academic Director van de Deeltijd Master Informatie Management MSc. Verder is hij verbonden aan de Manchester Business School, waar hij het vak Disruptive Technologies verzorgd. Daarnaast is hij als director werkzaam voor Alvarez & Marsal. Ook is hij bestuurslid van het Platform Outsourcing Nederland (www.platformoutsourcing.nl). Als bijzonder hoogleraar was hij houder van de KPMG Global Sourcing leerstoel aan de Universiteit van Tilburg van 2008 tot 2015. Erik promoveerde aan de Universiteit van Tilburg in 2000. Zijn onderzoek richt zich op Informatie Management, nieuwe technologie, outsourcing en governance. Hij heeft onder andere gepubliceerd in Journal of Information Technology, the European Management Journal, Information Technology & People, Strategic Outsourcing, Journal for Information Technology for Development, en Communications Association for Information Systems en in de proceedings van HICSS en ICIS. Daarnaast is hij auteur en mede-auteur van een groot aantal boeken over outsourcing en offshore outsourcing. Erik is tevens de hoofd auteur van het boek ‘Managing IT outsourcing’, dat door Routledge, UK werd uitgegeven (2006 en tweede editie in 2011).
