PhD student in Economics since the fall of 2013. Currently at Harvard University as a fellow with the Women and Public Policy Program at HKS  and with the Econ Computer Science group at SEAS (http://wappp.hks.harvard.edu/people/emma-heikensten)

My research interests are in Behavioral and Experimental Economics and I focus mostly on Economics of Gender and Inequality.

Work in progress: “Simon says”: Advice seeking and determinants of the decision to use advice are important to understand in order to form a theory of what drives men and women to speak up and how their ideas are spread. If advice is only sought from one group in society new ideas are unlikely to develop. Furthermore, the group that is not influential, from whom advice is neither sought nor used, might feel unwelcome or disconnected. Why speak up if your opinion doesn''t count?
