I am a Research Associate within the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL). My original background is within Psychology, after many years working clinically during my training, I became interested in applied research. After completion of an MSc (in Health Psychology) I began working as a Researcher interlinking my applied experience to academia.

My main interest is investigating how humans understand (and misunderstand) complexity, and the impact this has on societal, individual and organizational outcomes.

Presently I am working on a Nuffield Foundation funded project (Grant No. JUS/43090): Investigating the reasons for the rise in Care Order Applications in the Family Courts with particular focus on the Bristol Civil and Family Justice Centre

Previous research projects include:

· Working as part of a team to help develop and restructure a local Bristol charity. Conducting a longitudinal analysis of charities to explore financial resilience factors

· Working with Professor Parry on a Leverhulme Trust funded project exploring ex offenders experiences of employment post prison

· Working with the Office for National Statistics, to redevelop their Safe Researcher Training programme. Developing and evaluating the ARDx database for the ONS.

· Producing professional reports advising on data linkage for health (Wellcome Trust). Developing connections with researchers across disciplines & internationally, with an interest in data linkage & long-term research looking at health outcomes.

I am well versed in both quantitative and qualitative research methods and provide consultancy within this area.
