Biography
Foster School of Business
Ed is Associate Professor and Michael G. Foster Endowed Fellow at the University of Washington, Foster School of Business. His research interests include financial reporting, governance, disclosure, and disclosure processing costs. His work has been published in the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, and Review of Accounting Studies among others. His service roles include Chair of the AAA/Deloitte/J. Michael Cook Doctoral Consortium, Chair of JFR/FARS Research Methods Mini-Conference 2021, and co-organizer of the CARE Conference 2019. He currently serves as Guest Editor of Journal of Financial Reporting, Associate Editor of Management Science and of Journal of Accounting Research, and Editorial Board member at The Accounting Review and Review of Accounting Studies.
Ed received his PhD from University of Washington, an MA in Economics from San Francisco State University, 2008, and a BA from the University of California, Santa Cruz, 2002. Prior to joining UW, he was on the faculty at Stanford University.
