Jerrold Abrahams

Professor Abrahams is a partner and Chief Investment Officer of Captona Partners LLC an alternative energy and energy efficiency investment firm based in New York City.  Captona Partners seeks to deploy capital in a broad spectrum of commercial sector alternative energy generating assets and energy efficiency projects for state and local governments, not-for-profit institutions in health-care and higher-education as well as commercial and industrial users.    

Professor Abrahams joined the Public Finance Department of Smith Barney Harris Upham, a predecessor firm of Citi in 1992.  Through the course of his 20-year career at Citi, Professor Abrahams has worked as a public finance banker, credit and financial product specialists and co-headed the Municipal Capital Markets Syndicate desk in 2009-2010.

As a public finance banker, Professor Abrahams completed several notable transactions including the $600 million Las Vegas Monorail transaction which was named Institutional Investor Deal of the Year in 2000.  Professor Abrahams is a recipient of the Citigroup Global Customer Solutions Award in 1999 for his work on the Highway 407 financing in Toronto Canada which, at the time, was the largest privatization ever completed in North America. 

While part of the Credit and Financial Products Group, Professor Abrahams completed some of the largest transactions completed by the firm at the time including $700 million for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, $1.0 billion for the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, $1.4 billion for the Chicago Skyway LLC and $600 Million for the New York Jets Stadium LLC.

While co-heading Municipal Syndicate, Professor Abrahams was lead underwriter for new financial instruments created under American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009 (“ARRA”) including approximately $1.0 billion in tax credit Qualified School Construction Bonds (“QSCBs”) as well as the firm''s WINDOWS floating rate product. Professor Abrahams also worked on the firm''s renewable energy desk, providing financing to state and local governments, municipal owned utilities and not-for-profit institutions seeking to take advantage of the 1603 federal grant program for renewable energy projects.  

Mr. Abrahams also served on the divisions Diversity Committee.

Professor Abrahams now serves as a Board Member for ARC Group Worldwide, Inc (NASDAQCM:ARCW) where he is chair of the audit committee.

Professor Abrahams has an undergraduate degree in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis and a MBA with a concentration in Finance from Columbia University.
