Zicklin School of Business

Douglas R. Carmichael is the Claire and Eli Mason Professor of Accountancy. He is the only person to have served as both the Chief Auditor of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (2003-06) and Vice President, Auditing of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (1969-83). He is the author or coauthor of 30 books and over 100 articles on auditing and internal control topics. He was named as one of the 100 most influential people in the accounting profession four times and received the distinguished service award of the Auditing Section of the American Accounting Association for “significant and sustained contributions to the academic auditing profession.” ​
