Douglas Field

Biography

I received my PhD from the University of York in English Literature, where I focussed on the writer James Baldwin. I taught at Staffordshire University between 2006 and 2012, the year that I joined the University of Manchester. I sit on the Editorial Committee of Manchester University Press and I am the co-founding editor of the James Baldwin Review, _an annual peer-reviewed journal published by Manchester University Press. I''m a former managing editor of _Modernism/ Modernity  and a former book review editor of Callaloo. _I am a regular contributor to the _Times Literary Supplement & I''m a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
