SDA Bocconi School of Management

Donato Masciandaro is a Full Professor at the Department of Economics at Università Bocconi. Since January 2017, he has been Ettore Bocconi Department of Economics Liaison Officer at SDA Bocconi School of Management.

He is the Director of the Baffi Carefin Centre, Università Bocconi. He has been Head of Ettore Bocconi Department of Economics (2008-2010, 2013-2017) and President of Baffi Carefin Centre (2015-17). He has been an advisor and visitor to several international organizations (International Monetary Fund, World Bank, Inter-American Development Bank, United Nations).

His research activities focus on monetary and financial economics, particularly in three areas: central banking (monetary policy and banking supervision), economics and political economy of financial regulation, economics of illegal financial markets. His Impact Factor (June 2020) is 35.

His works have been published in leading national and international journals. He is a member of scientific networks, such as RIDGE (Research Institute for Development, Growth and Economics, Central Bank of Uruguay) and IRCCF (International Research Centre on Cooperative Finance, Montreal University). He has won two research awards: the Falcone and Borsellino International Award in 2011 (Università di Bologna) and the Saint Vincent Award in 1992 (Accademia dei Lincei and Italian Republic Presidency). In 2013 he won the Bocconi Research Excellence Award. He has been a Visiting Scholar at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Donato earned a degree in Economics and Social Sciences from Università Bocconi. He is married with two sons.
