Quinlan School of Business

About

Dr. Jones has worked in academia, the national laboratory community, and in private business. Much of his work outside academia, particularly at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee, has involved the intersection of energy, economic development, and environmental economics. His two publications in 1989 and 1981 on energy use and urbanization in economic development appear to have been the seminal research on that topic and continue to be widely cited in research published currently. Two of his papers on land-use models have been reprinted in collections of recent classics in the field.
