Donald Brown

Assistant Professor of Applied Mathematics at The University of Nottingham

Biography

Dr. Brown has worked primarily in the areas of modeling, simulation, and numerical analysis of engineering problems arising from E2G’s core businesses. Areas of recent interest are finite element methods, multiscale/multiphysics modeling, integration of data into models, and model reduction and their applications in an industrial setting. He is an author of two dozen publications and conference proceedings in computational science and engineering. Prior to joining E2G, Dr. Brown worked as an Assistant Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.

Before arriving in Nottingham, Dr. Brown completed his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at Texas A&M University in 2012 and went on as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Center for Numerical Porous Media, King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, Saudi Arabia from 2012-2014. Then, Dr. Brown was awarded the competitive Hausdorff Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Bonn, Germany, and from 2014-2015, he worked in the Institute for Numerical Simulation in Bonn. Wanting to attack real world challenges and bring expertise from academic research to practice, he joined E2G in 2018.
