Desmond Lyons

Desmond C.B. Lyons A founding partner of the firm, Mr. Lyons has more than 20 years experience representing municipal entities, businesses, individuals, high growth companies, finance professionals, and high net worth individuals; adding value, protecting their assets and helping them preserve their rights. Mr. Lyons has litigated matters for the firm’s clients in venues throughout the tri-state area, including: Federal and State Courts, administrative tribunals and arbitration panels in a number of areas including: municipal defense, commercial litigation; employment law; shareholder disputes; corporate dissolution; negligence defense; insurance coverage issues; and criminal defense. Mr. Lyons is a member of the Federal Magistrate Merit Selection Panel of the Southern District of New York, the Chair of the Federal Bar Council, Westchester Committee, the New York State Bar Association; and the Westchester County Bar Association. Mr. Lyons is a Court appointed Mediator and Hearing Officer in the Commercial Division of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, Westchester County. Mr. Lyons is currently Village Justice for the Village of Irvington. The Chairman of the Brehon Law Society in Westchester County, Mr. Lyons served as Village Prosecutor for the Village of Irvington (2000-2010), the Village of Elmsford, the Village of Sleepy Hollow (2006-2009) and the Village of Ardsley (2001-2004). He is the author of “Building the Pyramid: The Use of Cumulative Penalties in Municipal Code Prosecutions” in the Westchester Bar Journal, Spring/Summer Edition 2009. Mr. Lyons serves as a Director of Sunnyside Bancorp, Inc., a publicly traded community bank. An active supporter of the Inner City Scholarship Fund, Mr. Lyons serves on Lawyer’s Committee for the Inner City Scholarship Fund, was formerly on the Advisory Board of St. Angela Merici School in the Bronx and is Past Chairman of the Advisory Board of Immaculate Conception School in Irvington. Mr. Lyons is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Irish International Business Network, an international business organization and is also active in a variety of other business and trade related organizations such as: the Westchester County Association, the Ireland-U.S. Council for Commerce and Industry, the Ireland Chamber of Commerce in the United States, and the Irish Technology Leadership Group. Mr. Lyons is a designated SuperLawyer in the NY Metro area and was selected as an honoree in the Irish Echo’sTop Law & Order edition. Additionally, Mr. Lyons has been an occasional Legal Commentator on the FOX News Channel and a Legal Analyst on WFAS News Radio.
