What Désirée van Gorp drives, is the combination of education, research and working with companies and the interaction with her students and alumni. Désirée is teaching in BSc, MSc, Executive MBA, Full time MBA, Modular MBA and various EEOD programs. She is proud of her teaching efforts resulting in being elected various times as professor of the year, her publications and the team work with her colleagues. This combination gives her energy and makes her tick.
Currently, Désirée is Chairman of the International Advisory Board; Chairman of the Full time MBA Opleidingscommissie; deputy member of the Appeal Committee for students General Management and member of the International Council.
In the past ten years, Désirée was Associate Dean of the degree programs, Dean Ad interim of the Nyenrode New Business School, Program Director of the Full time/International MBA, Program Director of the Executive MBA, Member of the Academic Board and Member of the Appeal Committee for students General Management, PhD and Accountancy and Controlling; and board member of the Europe India Institute, Director of the Department International Business & Diplomacy as well as Member of the Stichting Nyenrode Fonds. Désirée holds a Master's degree with a specialization in international law from Leiden University. She obtained her PhD in business administration defending her dissertation entitled "Offshoring in the service sector: an empirical investigation on the offshoring behavior of service firms and its influence on their foreign entry mode choice” at Nyenrode.

Member of Supervisory boards of Atradius and Missing Chapter Foundation; Member of Advisory boards of the World Trade Organization’s (WTO) Chairs Programme, the International Institute for Social Studies and ECP.NL and the Committee of Recommendation of AMREF/Flying Doctors.
International activities
Visiting professor at Renmin University, Beijing in China and Politecnico di Milano in Italy.
