Biography
The Wharton School
Dean P. Foster received the B.S. degree in biochemistry from the University of Maryland in 1980, the M.S. degree in mathematics from the University of Maryland, the M.A. degree in computer science from Rutgers University, and the Ph.D. degree in statistics from the University of Maryland.
He joined The University of Chicago in 1988 and the University of Pennsylvania in 1992, where he is currently the Marie and Joseph Melone Professor of Wharton School (Emeritus). Since 2015, he has been working for Amazon Inc., New York City, NY, USA. His current research interests include machine learning, stepwise regression, and reinforcement learning.
