David Weber is the Deloitte Foundation Professor of Accounting at the University of Connecticut. He joined UConn in 2005 after earning a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado. His academic interests center on financial reporting and taxation, and he has been honored with awards for both his teaching and his research. He has received the Beta Alpha Psi Professor of the Year Award (twice) for teaching excellence; the School of Business Best Paper Award (three times); and the American Taxation Association / PricewaterhouseCoopers Outstanding Tax Dissertation Award. His research has been published in leading journals such as Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, and others. He has served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Taxation Association and as a Trustee of the American Taxation Association. He is a member of the American Accounting Association, the American Taxation Association, the National Tax Association, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Weber is also a CPA and worked in public accounting prior to his academic career.
