Biography
The Wharton School
Our Founder and CEO David Schmidt offers over 25 years of business and organizational experience, including work for blue-chip organizations including the U.S. Navy, Pearson, Gateway, AOL, and Intel. He has served in executive roles of increasing responsibility and authority in online and blended learning over the past 10 years, most recently his 7+ years as Vice President, State Relations at Pearson Education PLC (Connections Education division). In this role, he was responsible for all business development, sales, government relations, school development, and advocacy activities for a 12 state territory.
David has his MBA from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he double-majored in Marketing and Finance, and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), which he attended a full Navy ROTC scholarship.
He has spent most of his career in leadership, marketing, business development, and government relations. Since he was a young Naval officer, he has built, developed, and led strong teams.
