Biography

Sciences Po

Holds a degree from Sciences Po Bordeaux (1992) and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Bordeaux-Montesquieu (2002). Former research fellow at the Centre for Mexican and Central American Studies (CEMCA, French Embassy in Mexico City, 1995-1996 and 1998-1999) and visiting researcher at theCentre for Research and Superior Studies on Social Anthropology (CIESAS) in Oaxaca (1997). Joined CERI in 2004. Vice-president of the Observatoire politique de l’Amérique latine et des Caraïbes (OPALC) and member of the editorial boards of Critique internationaleProblèmes d’Amérique latine and Latin American Research Review. From 2008 till 2013, David Recondo has been a visiting professor at el Colegio de Mexico in the framework of a bilateral agreement with Sciences Po. His research focuses on the processes of political change in Latin America, with a special interest in their implications on participatory practices and the redefinition of the concept of citizenship.
