Managing Director Avicon Learning Resources

David Demers is an Adjunct Professor at The Pennsylvania State University and is Managing Director of Avicon Learning Resources, a consulting practice focused on supply chain transformation. He is responsible for supply chain thought leadership in their firm. Dave has a unique understanding of supply chain strategies and tactical execution disciplines. His consulting and industry operational experience enables him to address process integration, information technology, cash and organizational engineering solution requirements. He continues to lead major consulting initiatives involving the transformation of supply chain models on a global basis. Among his client assignments are such industry leaders as Cisco Systems, Dell, Apple, HP, Nortel Networks, GAP, Baxter Health Care, ExxonMobil Chemical and many other global corporations. He also serves in an advisory capacity for private equity and legal entities concerning supply chain performance improvement, disputes and investment matters.

Dave was named an Adjunct Professor at The Pennsylvania State University, Smeal College of Business. He is recognized as the Supply Chain Transformation and the Lean Supply Chain Co-Program Leader at the PSU Center for Supply Chain Research. In addition to his consulting practice, Dave now splits his time lecturing globally for PSU Executive Education Programs involving supply chain disciplines. He is actively leading executive education programs across five continents and has drawn participants from over forty countries. Dave is also a lecturer at the Army Logistics Management College, the Defense Logistics Agency, and Northeastern University's College of Business Administration.

Prior to his current consulting and teaching roles, Dave has twenty years of experience in senior supply chain leadership positions at Digital Equipment Corporation, M&M Mars, and Ore-Ida Foods, the frozen foods division of H.J. Heinz. His responsibilities involved major change program design and implementation, as well as operational management leadership.

Dave holds an MBA in Business Logistics from Pennsylvania State University and a BS from Northeastern University in Business Logistics.
