Biography
David N. Avdul is the director of compensation and HR centralized services and an adjunct professor at DePaul University. Throughout his career, he has worked in various human resources roles, including analyst, manager, director and assistant vice president, specializing in compensation and benefits and other technical human resources issues.
Avdul worked in the financial services and medical device industries for more than 20 years. He is a guest lecturer at various colleges around Chicago and has taught human resources management and compensation and benefits courses. He was awarded a dean’s fellowship and scholarship to study human resources at Loyola University-Chicago, and has also earned industry awards for developing innovative corporate incentive plans and wellness programs.
In business, Avdul has been in charge of many high profile projects in compensation and benefits. He has chaired investment committees on benefits and executive compensation, redesigned corporate health and welfare programs, and managed pension and retirement programs. He has managed, designed and implemented base pay programs, short-term incentive programs, and long-term incentive programs in countries across the world. Avdul has partnered with global consulting firms Mercer, Hewitt and Towers Watson on compensation and benefits projects, including mergers and acquisitions.
