Biography
Aalto University School of Business
I am a speaker, author, coach, and a trainer of coaching skills specialized in leadership. I have over ten years of experience in the development of managers, education professionals, and work communities. I have also written several books about leadership and mental growth, including ”Aina on nyt”, ”Ydinkysymyksiä”, ”Core Questions for Leaders” and “Meditations” (Volumes I-III), which is a collection of thoughts.
To sum it up, it could be stated that my whole career I have been “a guide to those who are guides to others”. I started training professional coaches and coaching skills already in 2007. After that, I have had the pleasure of teaching coaching skills and leadership to thousands.
I am specialized in wise leadership in the operational environment of the modern world. I help managers and work communities to understand how our operational environment is changing and what kind of skills this new world requires from leadership and organization cultures. The coaching approach is one of these central skills.
For me, coaching means foremost a new way to face yourself and others. It is about bringing the wisdom that lies in the other person to the surface in a balanced way and as part of everyday encounters. My mission has especially been to bring this coaching communication as part of the operation of professions, including leaders, professional trainers, human resources, teachers, and so forth.
Earlier in my career I have worked, for instance, in management tasks of trainer companies, conducted a research about strategic work, and worked as the Director of Human Resource Management of a Scandinavian software company. My basic studies (Master of Science in Technology) concentrated in the management of networked businesses. “In-depth understanding combined with a respectful way to face others”. This is the typical feedback I receive as a trainer. My strength lies in understanding big pictures and recognizing regularities in them. I also feel that this quality is in the center of good leadership.
